A mix-experience full of electro, house, indie, breaks and music from the 70/80/90s (oldskool hip hop, discogrooves, new-wave, retroclassics). Sounds of tomorrow meets those from the past! We need body rockin' not perfection. Let me get some action from the back section!
Krisix started buyin’ records since the late nineties. In the beginning it was just about making his own radiostation at home by switching the music between his stereo-deck, turntable, discman and even an oldskool walkman. A few lessons were learned quickly: scratchin’ with a walkman is NOT done! And you can’t fix a broken turntable belt by just using some pieces of scotch tape. Remember this!
The DJ learning process took some time... Since 2004 Krisix started playin’ at some public events in Duffel, Sint-Katelijne-Waver, etc. He hooked up with some friends and they started crashin’ the parties with their DJ-ensemble The Gimmicks. Nowadays Krisix has already played at avenues in Antwerp such as De Cinema, Den Aalmoezenier, Kaaiman and at some great gigs: LochtFiesta (Duffel), Gladiolen Beatmatch 2010 (Olen), Mixed-Uppp!! (Westerlo), Cirk Atomik (Wilrijk), Sound of the 90s (Ex-resident DJ at Den Aalmoezenier in Antwerp), etc. And shared the decks with Laston & Geo, SIGI, Geht’s Noch?, Gerrit Kerremans, etc.
And the music keeps on playin’ on and on…
